Cr Robert Ievers, of Winchester Station, Richmond, is one of the true pioneers of the Dinosaur Era in Western Queensland. With his brother Ian, Cr Ievers is known as the discoverer of an extremely significant fossil find in the Region, the Richmond Pliosaur.

Recipient of a Centenary Medal in 2001 for his service to the community and as founding member of the Richmond Fossil Museum (now known as Kronosaurus Korner) and recipient of Gallery and Museum Association (GAMAA) Industry Award in 2008 for his outstanding service as a volunteer to Kronosaurus Korner.

Robert Ievers was born in Charters Towers 1 March, 1954 and has been a Councillor of the Richmond Shire since 1998.
