We offer two types of guided tours to groups of 10 or more.
Fossicking Site Tour
A trained guide will accompany the group to our fossicking site, 12km to the north of town. All groups must provide their own transport to the site. This tour usually lasts for about 1 hour and gives everyone the opportunity of discovering a fossil of their own. The guide will be able to identify the fossils as they are found and give advice on how to prepare and preserve them.
Kronosaurus Korner Tour
This tour can be catered to suit any type of group and usually takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour. A trained guide will be on hand for the tour and will readily answer any questions that may arise. The tour starts with the 8 minute theatrette presentation, followed by a description of our major fossils, finishing with an explanation on the preparation techniques used in our laboratory.
Bookings are essential for both tours and special tour rates are offered. Please contact Kronosaurus Korner for details. Guided tours are by prior arrangement only.
However we have audio guides available (included in the admission fee) so you can listen to Rob Ievers who discovered the Richmond Pliosaur recount back to prehistoric times and the predators of the anicent inland sea.
There are 18 in depth descriptions on the guides depicting our region 100 million years ago.
