Kronosaurus Korner is an accredited Visitor Information Centre with a marine reptile centre displaying over 400 fossil specimens.
The centre includes a working laboratory, theatre and audio guides for self guided tours. Our Tourist Officers can assist you with tour bookings, laboratory workshops and fossil hunting tours. Kronosaurus Korner provides information for visitors about Richmond and the free designated fossicking sites.
Visitor Information Centre
The Visitor Information Centre is located inside Kronosaurus Korner which is at the first crossroads on entering Richmond when you travel on the Overlander's Way.
It holds an extensive selection of information and brochures on our local area as well as from the Outback, the Tropical North, the Central Coast and South East regions of Queensland.
The friendly staff have a wealth of knowledge on things to see and do while in Richmond and are always willing to provide assistance when required.
While getting all your travel information, take some time to browse through the Souvenir Shop, tour through our award winning fossil centre and enjoy some refreshments at the Moon Rock Cafe.
The centre is open daily from 8.30am to 4.45pm (except Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day and Good Friday) with shorter hours over the Christmas period so come in and say "G'day
Moonrock Cafe and Bakery
The Moon Rock Cafe, inside the Kronosaurus Korner complex serves light meals, sandwiches, pies, sausage rolls, a variety of hot and cold drinks and a delicious range of cakes and snacks. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. Catering for tours groups is available on request.
Public Amenities
Full public amenities are located outside the Kronosaurus Korner building. Disabled toilets
and a Baby Change Room are available.
Disability Access
There is full access for guests with a disability with fully accessible disbled toilet facilities. Kronosaurus Korner is all on one level with wide aisles for easy manoeuverablilty for wheel chairs and staff who can assist if necessary.
