Airlie Beach resident Stephanie Hunt and 15 year old Joel Phelps recently travelled to Kronosaurus Korner in Richmond to try their hand at fossicking for dinosaur and Marine reptile bones. To their surprise Kronosaurus Korner founder Rob Ievers was their tour guide for the day.The tour commercial at 8.30am with Rob taking Stephanie & Joel to one of his special fossicking Sites. 

Finds for the day included Macros shark teeth, Ichthyosaur teeth, Ichthyosaur vertebral and as will as Ichthyosaur phalanges. Other finds included a range of fish rib bones, fish vertebrae and Belemnites. 

Armed with their very exciting finds they headed back to the preparation facility at Kronosaurus Korner where Rob explained the finer points of fossil preparation technique. Stephanie & Joel were given the opportunity to prep their own fossil. 

Stephanie said that the day spent with rob was very exciting and extremely education. And Joel who thought the day would be boring didn’t want to leave and is looking forward to his next visit to Richmond.
